Kuwait stocks slide 49.67 pts, oil weighs

Kuwait stocks pulled lower on Monday as sentiments were battered by further drop in oil prices. The main index slid 49.67 points to 6,497.11 points snapping the two-day upswing. The small and mid-caps led the day’s decline even as the heavyweights closed mixed.
The KSX 15 benchmark rose 2.03 pts to 1,052.42 points trimming the month’s losses to 9 points while weighted index inched 0.16 pts up. The volume turnover meanwhile surged past the 200 million mark after falling sharply in the previous session. Over 215 million shares changed hands — a 47.45 pct jump from the day before.
